Relieve Menstrual Cramps with Twerking: Activate Your First & Second Chakras.

Last week I was on my moon. It was the first day of my bleed and I had a busy day of travel the entire day before. I was tired and irritable. My cramps and sensations in my lower back were very strong. After a long day of working at a job I do not enjoy, all I wanted to do was complain. And eat chocolate and feel bad for myself. Instead I choose to twerk. I told myself that I just had to rock my hips up and down for one song… Just one song… and to my surprise one song turned into an incredible 30 minutes of dance. It felt so good. I cried, I laughed and I felt sweet relief.

Menstrual pain is a common challenge that many women face each month. While there are various remedies and treatments available, twerking I believe is the most empowering and effective. More than just a dance move, twerking can help alleviate menstrual pain by releasing stuck energy in the root and sacral chakras—two vital energy centers that play a crucial role in women’s health.

The Link Between Twerking and Menstrual Pain Relief.

Twerking is a dance move that involves rhythmic, isolated movements of the hips and lower body. While it’s often associated with fun and self-expression, twerking also engages the muscles in the pelvic region, encouraging blood flow and movement in areas where energy might be stagnant. For those who experience menstrual pain, this movement can help alleviate discomfort by releasing tension in the lower abdomen and hips, where cramps are often felt.

The pelvic region is home to the root and sacral chakras, two energy centers that are intimately connected to our physical and emotional well-being. When these chakras are blocked or unbalanced, it can manifest as physical symptoms like menstrual pain, irregular periods, or other reproductive issues. By engaging in movement that stimulates these areas, such as twerking, we can help release stuck energy and restore balance.

Understanding the Root and Sacral Chakras.

The root chakra, or Muladhara, is located at the base of the spine. It governs our sense of stability, security, and connection to the physical body. When the root chakra is balanced, we feel grounded and secure. However, when it's blocked, we may experience issues like lower back pain, fatigue, or menstrual problems.

The sacral chakra, or Svadhisthana, is located just below the navel in the pelvic region. This chakra is associated with our sexual and creative energy, as well as our emotions. When the sacral chakra is in balance, we experience healthy relationships, creativity, and sexual fulfillment. When it’s blocked, we may struggle with issues like menstrual pain, infertility, or emotional imbalances.

Both of these chakras are deeply connected to women's health, and vitality. When energy is stuck in these areas, it will manifest as physical symptoms, including menstrual pain. Issues show up in the energetic body before they show up in the physical body. When you are having physical pain your body is letting you know that energetically things are out of balance. Twerking, by focusing on the hips and lower abdomen, helps to activate and release energy in these chakras, offering a natural way to relieve discomfort. Unbalanced sexual energy can show up as physical pain as well as financial insecurity and lack of pleasure. This energy is not just about sexuality in the physical sense but also about our creative power, emotional expression, and connection to life itself.

Practices like twerking, belly dancing, kundalini and other forms of movement and energy work, can help to release this stuck energy. By consciously working to balance the root and sacral chakras, women can experience not only relief from menstrual pain but also an overall improvement in their well-being.

Strengthening and Clearing the Root and Sacral Chakras.

In addition to twerking, there are other practices that can help you strengthen and clear your root and sacral chakras:

  1. Yoga: Poses like Malasana (Garland Pose), Baddha Konasana (Bound Angle Pose), and hip-opening asanas can help stimulate and balance the root and sacral chakras.

  2. Meditation: Focus on grounding and creative visualization. Imagine roots growing from your feet into the earth for the root chakra, and visualize a flowing river of orange energy for the sacral chakra.

  3. Breathwork: Deep, rhythmic breathing exercises that focus on the lower abdomen can help activate these chakras.

  4. Crystals: Stones like red jasper, garnet, and carnelian are associated with the root and sacral chakras. Placing these stones on the lower abdomen during meditation can help balance these energy centers.

  5. Sound Healing: Listening to or chanting the seed sounds "LAM" for the root chakra and "VAM" for the sacral chakra can help to clear and balance these areas.

  6. Journaling and Creative Expression: Engage in activities that allow you to express your emotions and creativity, such as journaling, painting, or dancing. This can help release any stuck energy in the sacral chakra.

Twerking, far from being just a popular dance trend, is a powerful tool for relieving menstrual pain and clearing stuck energy in the root and sacral chakras. By integrating this movement into your routine and exploring other practices that support chakra health, you can experience profound relief and a deeper connection to your body and energy. Remember, women's health issues are a reflection of our energetic state, and by nurturing these energy centers, you can cultivate a more balanced, vibrant, and healthy life.
