How to Strengthen Your Intuition: Tips for Unlocking Your Inner Wisdom.
“Intuition is a spiritual faculty and does not explain, but simply points the way.”
There isn’t really a way to describe or write about intuition. You must experieince it. It is a deep inner knowing. A direct connection to your soul. For a long time I had a story that “I couldn’t trust myself”. There were a series of events that caused me to believe that I was a liar and therefore couldn’t be trusted. Because of this belief I was completely disconnected from my intuition and was constantly fighting against the current called life.
I knew that if I wanted more pleasure, bliss and ease in my life I would have to regain trust in myself, and develop my intuition. For the past 8 years that has been my goal. In this blog post you will learn ways to enhance your intuitive abilities and how to develop your intuition. Here are 4 tips to get you started on this self-healing and spiritual journey.
Keep Your Promises.
Specifically the promises you make to yourself. This is a game changer. If you say you are going to go outside for a walk at 7:30AM - then do it. And if you don’t do what you say you will do, then set a playful consequence for yourself to keep you connected to achieving your goals. Our intuition is like a dear friend. If we constantly let her down, or don’t do what we say we will do, she will stop communicating with us. Our intuition needs to know that it can trust us and that we will listen to what it has to say. Fear not, intuition is forgiving and even if we have neglected her for years (like I did) you can gradually build the relationship if you give her time and attention.
Use Oracle Cards.
Go to a spiritual book store, yoga studio or woo -woo coffee shop and look through some oracle decks. Pick one that suits you and bring it home! Then pull a card every morning and take a few moments to reflect on what the card means to you. How does it pertain to your life? You may even ask a question for the day, and then pull the card. Be warned, this is not a right brain rational activity. There is nothing to do or get. The work is subtle. Like the subtle whisper of your intuition. This practice will help you tap into your energetic body, the 5D language and reality.
Journal.
Sit down and write every morning. In Julia Cameron’s book The Artist's Way, she calls this practice “Morning Pages” and describes why this is a nonnegotiable to allow creativity to flow in. This practice is necessary for increased creativity and intuition as it clear the clutter and chaos from your mind. Every morning, write for however long you take to fill 3 full pages. You don’t have to write anything important, don’t worry about grammar or your sentence structure. Just write.
Meditate.
Take time every day, ideally twice a day, to sit in quiet contemplation. This time will help your body to rest and restore. Twice a day, meditation will help you clear out the backlog of stress. Ziva Meditation is a program I started one year ago, and it finally helped me understand why twice a day meditation is exponentially better than once a day. Better yet, I have been meditating twice a day every day since then and my life has changed for the better. When you clear the stress, your inner intuition and wisdom will be louder. It doesn’t have to be Ziva Meditation but find a practice or style that works for you and sit in quiet everyday, twice a day.
Start the year off by connecting to your intuition. When you are connected to your intuition, your life will flow with grace and ease. Life is more fun when you're in a loving, committed relationship with your inner voice. Implement these four tips for 44 days and your life will change. Committing to and practicing them daily changed my life.
